Meet Kara, the heart and hands behind our cottage bakery. Kara’s journey in the kitchen began with a degree in Family Consumer Science, which blossomed into a fulfilling career as a High School Foods teacher. As our family grew—we are now a bustling household with five children!—she transitioned to teaching cooking courses at a local community college to better balance her time.
While her professional background has always been rooted in food education, her true personal passion is baking. Now primarily at home with our kids, Kara has turned that passion into this cottage bakery. Her mission is simple: to bake with love from our kitchen, to be enjoyed in yours.
Having grown up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago and proudly calling the Lake Zurich area home since 2021, we are thrilled to share our family's favorite treats with our neighbors. When you order from us, you’re not just getting a homemade bake; you are getting the expertise of an educator. Kara is not only ServSafe certified, but she is also a certified ServSafe Instructor who has taught and certified others in food safety.
